The Death Knight Chronicles
Rolling off the desert south of Karvannia, Deseret is an arid waste. Once it was thought to be a green paradise and the ruins that dot this land, and the hieroglyphics within, testify to this truth.
In Deseret water is worth more than gold (though metals are equally rare). Here settlement come in extremes, either as a nomad camp or fortress-city. The latter are built over oasis or well and the Sultans rule is enforced by control of water. But even the power of Sultans cower before Eternal Ursis, the god-king of the desert and dark lord of the Scarab Wastes in Deseret’s heart.
